"We got better," UAB head coach Kim Wilcox said. "It was good to see the team respond and improve each round. Christina got going early, Martha played well in the third round and we got a solid effort from everyone. We've got a long way to go, but we're showing signs of putting some things together. It will be nice to see how we respond to turning around and playing again Sunday in San Diego. Maybe the quick turnaround will allow us to keep some momentum."
The 964 team score put the Blazers three strokes behind Western Kentucky, which finished sixth. UAB shot team rounds of 326-323-315. Jacksonville State shot a 306 and placed three players in the Top 15 to rally from five shots back to win the tournament, played at the par-72, 6,012 yard Silver Lakes Golf Course on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
