GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Brooke Mangan recovered from a seven-over par, 77 first round to card a 75 in round two on Friday in her debut at the 2005 NCAA Women's Golf East Regional. Mangan stands in a tie for 47th place out of 108 individuals with one round to go. She is making the first-ever NCAA postseason appearance for a UAB women's golfer.
On the team leaderboard, Ohio State's even-par team score of 280 for the second round propelled the Buckeyes to a 10-shot lead over top-ranked Duke at five-over par, 565 for the two rounds. Leah Wigger of Virginia leads the individual title race after a three-under par second round and a 137 two-round total. She is one stroke in front of Furman's Jenny Suh (69-69). Tulane's Liliana Alvarez (70-71) is four shots off the lead and in third place.
Mangan's two-round 152 included seven bogeys, one double bogey and two birdies in the morning first round, which was delayed from Thursday due to weather in the Gainesville area. She improved with four bogeys, one double bogey and a birdie in the afternoon round for a five-over performance on the par-70, 6,023-yard University Golf Course at the University of Florida. She is tied with five other golfers at 15 strokes off the lead.

Mangan will join the rest of the field for a shotgun start early Saturday morning.
