Dent Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Third Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB sophomore Casey Dent of the Blazer volleyball team has been voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District IV Third Team, announced Wednesday. The middle blocker earns the award for the first time in her career and is one of three sophomores to be named to the first, second or third teams in district IV.
Dent has put together a solid sophomore season for the Blazers thus far. She is first on the team and fourth in Conference USA in hitting percentage at .344 and leads the team in blocks with 83.
In addition to her excellence on the court, Dent also stands out in the classroom, making the Dean's List in each of her first two semesters at UAB. She is a pre-business major at UAB.
