Blazers in 10th After Day One in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The UAB women's golf team finished day one of the Unlimited Potential/Myrtle Beach Classic in 10th place out of 16 teams competing. The Blazers shot a 310 in round one and posted a second-round score of 319 to finish the day with a two-round team total of 629 (+45). Host-school College of Charleston and Middle Tennessee State are currently tied for the top spot with scores of 593 (+9).
UAB's top golfer after two rounds is sophomore Alyson Mitchell, who boasted rounds of 75 and 74 to give her a day-one score of 149 and put her in a tie for 15th place overall. Senior Martha Hudson shot an even-par round of 73 in round one and a 77 in round two to put her in a tie for the 20th position with a score of 150.
Senior Jennifer Head sits in a tie for the 67th spot with rounds of 78 and 86 (164), while freshman Carolyn Cochran posted an 85 and an 82 to give her a total of 167 and leave her tied for 74th. Sophomore Christina Wentworth is sitting in 85th place with scores of 84 and 94 (178).
The third and final round of the Unlimited Potential/Myrtle Beach Classic will tee off on Tuesday morning at the Shaftesbury Glen Golf Course.
