UAB Finishes Seventh At Ann Rhoads Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's golf team took seventh place out of 21 competing teams at the Ann Rhoads Shootout hosted by Birmingham-Southern College. The Blazers finished the tournament with a two-round score of 631 to end in the top 10.
Host-school Birmingham-Southern took home the title with a winning score of 600. Jacksonville State took second with a total of 614, while Arkansas State finished third with a score of 619 to round out the top three.
Freshman Carolyn Cochran was UAB's top performer, shooting a two-round total of 153 to finish 11th overall in the individual standings. Senior Martha Hudson shot back-to-back rounds of 78 to complete the event with a total of 156 to tie for 18th place.
Senior Jennifer Head and sophomore Alyson Mitchell both tied for 42nd place with a two-day score of 161. Senior Lois Jones ended the tournament with a score of 179 to round out the Blazers' effort.
Jill Stupiansky of Birmingham-Southern shot a tournament-best 148 to take home the Ann Rhodes Invitational individual title.
The Blazers will be back in action on March 5-6 when they compete in the Lady Jaguar Invitational, hosted by South Alabama.
