Final Results
BRADENTON, Fla. - The UAB women's golf team shot a 319 on Tuesday to place 14th at the USF-Waterlefe Invitational with a 36-hole score of 628. The Blazers carded a 309 during Monday's opening round at the par-72, 5,962-yard Waterlefe Golf & River Club.
"We played well the first round," said UAB head coach Kim Wilcox. "We played just okay in the second round. This was a difficult course and I think this is the best that we have ever played this course."
Senior Christina Wentworth was UAB's top performer with rounds of 73 and 78 to tie for 25th place overall with a combined score of 151.
Sophomore Lindsay Taylor tied for 33rd after tallying a score of 153, courtesy of rounds of 74 and 79. Sophomore Jaime Brabb concluded the tournament tied for 64th place with a score of 161.
Senior Alyson Mitchell shot a 167 to tie for 78th place, while sophomore Ashley Looney recorded a 170, which put her in a tie for 81st.
Campbell maintained its first-place standing from day one and took home the tournament title with rounds of 290 and 291 for a combined score of 581. Host-school USF carded a 590 to take second place and Nova Southeastern shot a 592 to place third.
The Blazers will be back in action on Oct. 13-14 when they compete in the Lady Indian Classic, hosted by Arkansas State in Jonesboro, Ark.
