BRADENTON, Fla. - The UAB women's golf team concluded play at the Waterlefe Invitational on Tuesday, placing 16th in the team standings with a three-round total of 976. Junior Jaime Brabb led the Blazers and placed 16th overall after shooting a 226.
Nova Southeastern took home the team title with rounds of 299, 290 and 288 for a combined score of 877. Campbell placed second at 883 and host-school South Florida rounded out the top three at 893.
"I thought we improved on the second day," said UAB head coach Kim Wilcox. "It was nice to see everyone's scores improve on Tuesday. The course wasn't too long, but it was very tight and there was water everywhere."
Brabb carded rounds of 79, 72 and 75 on her way to a total score of 226 and a 16th place finish in the individual standings.
Redshirt junior Carolyn Cochran shot a season-best 75 during the third round as she finished at 237 and tied for 47th place. Junior Lindsay Taylor tied for 77th with a 54-hole score of 253.
Junior Emi Boozer tied for the 83rd spot at 264 and freshman Ana Martin rounded out UAB's efforts in 87th place with a 274.
The Blazers will return to action on Oct. 19-20 when they travel to Charleston, S.C. to compete in the Wendy's Invitational.
