Emily Foreman Named UAB Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Emily Foreman, a junior member of the Blazer volleyball team, has been selected as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
Foreman is in her third year as a defensive specialist for the Blazers, and her impact has increased each season. So far in 2009, she has played in 19 matches and tallied a 1.45 digs-per-set average. Her .953 receiving percentage ranks second on the team.
In the classroom, Foreman owns an overall GPA of 3.24, and she was recently admitted into the highly competitive nursing program at UAB. She earned a spot on the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll in both her freshman and sophomore years.
The UAB Student-Athlete of the Week is highlighted each Sunday night on Blazers All-Access, which airs locally at 11:35 p.m. on ABC 33/40.
Foreman and the UAB volleyball team (17-15, 9-7 C-USA) will travel to Houston, Texas, this week for the Conference USA Championship, hosted by Rice. The Blazers are the No. 7 seed and will open play Friday at 2 p.m. CT against second-seeded Tulsa.
