Blazers in Ninth After First Round at Memphis Tournament

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. -- The UAB women's golf team is currently in ninth after the first round at the Memphis Women's Invitational at Ridgeway Country Club. The first two rounds were supposed to be held Monday, but play was suspended after the first round due to darkness. Play will resume with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
As a team, UAB carded a 322 through the first 18 holes. Sophomore Jaime Ritter shot a 77 in the first round and is tied for 13th to lead the Blazers. Seniors Jaime Brabb and Carolyn Cochran were not far behind, with rounds of 78 and 79, respectively.
Memphis leads the tournament with a team score of 305. Mississippi State shot a 307 and currently stands second, while Missouri rounds out the top three with a 310.
