Jaime Ritter Named UAB Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Fresh off a first-place finish at last weekend's Great Smokies Intercollegiate, sophomore women's golfer Jaime Ritter has been selected as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
Ritter fired a 4-under par 140 to win the title and set a UAB record for best 36-hole score. She shot a first-round 69 and a second-round 71 to help the Blazers to an eighth-place finish as a team.
The former Miami (Fla.) transfer and Davie, Fla., native carries a 3.25 GPA in the classroom. She is majoring in journalism with a minor in English.
Ritter and the women's golf team continue their fall schedule Oct. 4-5 with a trip to Bradenton, Fla., for the USF-Waterlefe Invitational.
The UAB Student-Athlete of the Week is highlighted each Sunday night on Blazers All-Access, which airs locally at 11:35 p.m. on ABC 33/40.
