UAB Finishes Memphis Invitational in 11th Place

MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- Freshman Holly Robinson led the way for the Blazers with a three-round score of 236 as the UAB women's golf team finished 11th in the Memphis Invitational at the Ridgeway Country Club.
UAB earned the eleventh position in the 12-team tournament with a team score of 959 for 107-over par.
Samford and tournament host Memphis tied for the top spot in the tournament at the conclusion of the two-day event. Both schools had an overall team score of 913. Marissa Steen from Memphis won the tournament with a three-round score of 215 for 2-over par.
"This was not a good finish for us," Coach Kim Wilcox said. "We need work."
Sophomore Caitlin Watts finished the tournament tied for 35th with a 239 stroke count after three rounds of play. Junior Jaime Ritter shot a 241 in the tournament, as freshman Margaret Yeh finished tied for 52nd in the event. Junior Ana Martin shot a score of 253 in the tournament to wrap up the scoring for UAB.
