Blazers Wrap Up Spring Season At Baylor Spring Invitational

WACO, Texas -- The UAB women's golf team wrapped up its final tournament before the Conference USA Championship, competing at the Baylor Spring Invitational at the Two Rivers Golf Club. The Blazers finished in 18th place with a 54-hole team score of 1016.
Texas Tech took home the top team spot after registering an 899 over the 54-hole tournament. The Red Raiders' also earned medalist honors thanks to Alex Gibson's 71 in the final round to finish with a score of 219, one stroke ahead of Missouri State's Kelsey Welber and Baylor Chelsea Cothran at 220 each.
North Texas finished in second place with a team score of 909, while UT San Antonio and Missouri tied at 917 to round out the top four.
Carolyn Cochran and Jaime Brabb each improved on their scores from the previous day, shooting a 79 in the final round to tie for 81st with a score of 249. Jaime Ritter also improved on the final day, recording an 83 to finish tied for 86th with a 54-hole total of 254. Ana Martin rounded out the Blazers' scoring with a 264.
The Blazers conclude the 2011 season next week at the Conference USA Championship. UAB will host the tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala., April 17-19.
