Cochran Named To C-USA All-Academic Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB senior Carolyn Cochran was named to the 2011 Conference USA All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office on Thursday. Cochran earns the honor for the second straight year.
Cochran has been the epitome of student-athlete during her time at UAB. She carries a 3.97 GPA as a biology major. A native of Daphne, Ala., she has earned UAB Presidential Honors eight times during her career and is a four-time member of the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Cochran has posted four top-20 finishes in her senior season and helped UAB post a school-record 36-hole total of 593 at the 2010 Great Smokies Intercollegiate. In 2009, Cochran earned medalist honors at the UAB Fall Beach Blast.
Cochran and the Blazers return to the links next week for the final time in the 2011 season at the C-USA Championship. UAB will host the tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala., April 17-19.
