OLD HICKORY, Tenn. -- The first round of the Belmont Women's Invitational has been suspended due to a line of severe storms that hit Middle Tennessee and the Old Hickory Country Club on Monday afternoon.

First round play began Monday morning with 9 a.m. shotgun start. After nine holes of play, a line of severe storms hit the golf course and forced a suspension of the first round until Tuesday.

Due to damage from the storm, the tournament was shortened to an 18-hole event. Play will be completed beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
