UAB Fifth After Round One In Mississippi

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - UAB sophomore Caitlin Watts finished the first day of the Lady Eagle Invitational in fourth place as an individual Monday with a one-round stroke count of 73 (1-over par).
The tournament, hosted by Southern Miss, started early Monday at the par-72, 6,143-yard Hattiesburg Country Club. UAB is in fifth place after day one with a score of 309 as a team, but the Blazers are just eight shots off the lead. Troy finished round one in first place with a team score of 301.
UAB junior Jaime Ritter finished round one in the top 10 individually with a score of 75. Freshman Margaret Yeh completed day one shooting eight-over par. Freshman Holly Robinson had a stroke count of 81 at the conclusion of the day, and junior Ana Martin rounded out the scoring for the Blazers with a one-round score of 83.
The action in the tournament will resume on Tuesday.
