UAB Finishes in 14th Place at the UC Spring Invite

Crystal River, Fla. - The Blazers earned 14th place in the 19-team University of Cincinnati Spring Invitational that concluded Sunday. UAB's participants combined to shoot a 956 over the course of the 3-day tournament.
Florida International finished this tournament in first place as they earned a team score of 878.
Shelby Coyle, from Florida International, won the tournament as an individual after leading after each subsequent day of play.
UAB junior Jaime Ritter completed this tourney with an overall score of 230. Sophomore Caitlin Watts concluded day three with a stroke count of 236, while freshmen Holly Robinson and Margaret Yeh each scored 247 and 248 respectively. Junior Lindsey Gipson rounded out the scoring for the Blazers with a 3-day total of 255.
"We played okay during this tournament," Coach Kim Wilcox said, "but we are really looking forward to the next tournament with eager anticipation."
The next tournament for UAB will take place in Nashville, Tenn. at the Belmont Invitational on April 2-3, 2012.
