Women's Golf Hosts UAB Fall Beach Blast

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's golf team is set to cap its fall season Monday and Tuesday with the annual UAB Fall Beach Blast.
The tournament will take place at the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club in Gulf Shores, Ala.
Eleven teams will hit the course Monday for the 36-hole event, including Southern Miss, West Florida, Houston Baptist, Sam Houston State, Belmont, Austin Peay, North Dakota, McNeese State, ULM, Western Kentucky and the host Blazers.
UAB enters Monday's opening round with three events under its belt so far. The Blazers finished tied for sixth to start the year at the Chris Banister Golf Classic, carded a sixth place result at the rain-shortened Bearcat Classic and most recently finished 12th of 16 teams at the Blue Raider Invitational.
The freshmen duo of Sydney Snodgrass and Kayla Wilbourn lead the squad so far. Snodgrass takes a 76.86 stroke average into the tournament, while Wilbourn is averaging 78.14 strokes per round.
