Women's Golf In Fifth Entering Chris Banister Final Round

GLENCOE, Ala. - The UAB women's golf team fired a 323 on Monday at the RTJ at Silver Lakes to move to fifth place in the team standings entering Tuesday's final round of the Blazers' opening tournament of the fall.
"Sydney (Snodgrass) had a very good day again," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "The team didn't play up to its potential and I'm looking forward to a better day on Tuesday. I'm very happy Sydney is in the top five."
The freshman from Harrisville, W. Va., led the way again for UAB, turning in a 2-over 74 to move to 5-over after 36 holes. She sits in fifth place alone on the leaderboard entering Tuesday's round just four strokes off the individual lead held by Fatima Fern Cano from Troy.
Kayla Wilbourn fired an 11-over 83 in the second round to move to 159 (15-over) tied for 25th. She sits five strokes away from being just outside the top-10 going into the final 18.
Senior Holly Robinson turned in a 12-over 82 to move to a tie for 33rd at 164 overall after 36 holes.
Senior Jesse Lawley shaved a stroke off her first round total and fired an 82 to move to a tie for 36th at 21-over.
Margaret Yeh shot a 16-over 88 on Monday for UAB's dropped team score.
As a team UAB is 10 strokes off fourth place and 16 away from Samford who sits in third. Troy leads the field of 11 after two rounds with a 305 and 303 for a 608 36-hole total (+32).
The Blazers will tee-off from hole one starting at 7:57 a.m. Tuesday morning. Yeh will lead the way for the Blazers as Lawley, Robinson, Wilbourn and Snodgrass will follow through 8:33 to begin the final round.
