Women's Golf Hosts UAB Fall Beach Blast

GULF SHORES, Ala. - The UAB women’s golf team concludes its fall slate Monday and Tuesday at the UAB Fall Beach Blast. The 11-team, 36-hole event, hosted by the Blazers, will be played at Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club in Gulf Shores, Ala.
The Blazers are coming into the tournament looking to build off a 10th place finish in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational at Leilehua Golf Course in Wahiawa, Hawaii, and a seventh place finish at the Chris Banister Golf Classic in Glencoe, Ala.
Sophomore Sydney Snodgrass has been red hot as of late for UAB, with a team-low scoring average of 76.2 and consecutive top-20 finishes. In her last outing at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Snodgrass carded rounds of 72-72-74 (218), the lowest 54-hole total by any Blazer this season.
Also competing in this years tournament is Jacksonville State, Southern Miss, Alabama State, Lamar, McNeese State, Tennessee Tech, South Dakota, Belmont, Western Kentucky and Austin Peay. UAB finished in a tie for seventh in last years Fall Beach Blast with a 36-hole score of 607.
