Women's Golf Improves, Finishes Seventh At USA Invite

MOBILE, Ala. - The UAB women's golf team improved 15 strokes from its first two rounds to finish seventh Tuesday at the 13th Annual USA Women's Invite.
UAB posted a 325 in each of the two rounds Monday, but improved tremendously with a 310 in Tuesday's final 18 holes to jump up to seventh and finish with a team score 960 (96-over).
Holly Robinson again led the way for the Blazers, firing a 7-over, 79, to finish tied for 26th with an overall 24-over, 240.
Margaret Yeh and Rebecca Chandler both finished the event tied for 30th at 25-over, 241. Yeh also improved on day two with a 7-over, 79, while Chandler posted a 3-over, 75 in round three.
Juliana Sebastian finished not far off Yeh and Chandler, firing an 80 in her final round to finish tied for 33rd at 26-over, 242, while Kayla Wilbourn rounded out UAB's field to finish at 30-over, 246 after a 77 in the third round.
Memphis claimed the tournament title with a team score 915 (302-306-307), while WKU finished 10 strokes off to place second. UALR's Stina Resen fired a three-round 221 to claim the individual title, four strokes ahead of Memphis' Michaela Fletcher.
The Blazers return to the course March 9-10 at the Lady Eagle Invitational in Hattiesburg, Miss.
