Sand Volleyball Travels To Louisiana-Monroe

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB sand volleyball team will hit the road for the first time this season, traveling to take on Louisiana-Monroe on Thursday. The teams are slated to begin play at 2 p.m. CT.
UAB (0-1) will play its second dual match of the season Thursday, while Louisiana-Monroe (1-1) has competed in one tournament. The Blazers are coming off a 4-1 loss to South Carolina in the opening match of the season on Tuesday.
The lone win came from UAB's No. 5 pair of senior Becca Howard and freshman Avei Logoleo. The duo came from behind to win two-straight sets and take the win over South Carolina.
This will be the first of two meetings on the schedule for the two teams. UAB and Louisiana-Monroe are slated to play again in the Blazers' home tournament on March 29.
