UAB Closes Regular Season At Florida State Pairs Tournament

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB sand volleyball team will conclude its regular season this weekend at the Florida State Pairs Tournament.
UAB (7-8) will be one of four teams participating in the tournament. Along with the Blazers will be No. 7 Georgia State, No 5 Florida State and Eckerd College. The teams will begin play on Saturday and conclude the pairs tournament on Sunday.
This will be the second-straight pairs tournament for UAB, who recently competed in the Fiesta on Siesta Key Tournament last weekend.
 Senior Becca Howard and freshman Avei Logoleo highlighted the weekend with a win in the Copper Bracket of the Team Cup. Seniors Rachel Fairbanks and Sara Rishell finished third in the Gold Division of the bracket challenge.
 Seniors Kiriana Hirini and Bethanie Thomas finished sixth in the Gold Division and have won 12 matches this season and finished runner-up at the Georgia State Pairs Tournament earlier this season.
