BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB's women's golf team will continue its 2015 fall season this week traveling to Glencoe, Ala. to play in the Chris Banister Golf Classic, which runs Sunday through Tuesday.
The tournament will be played at Silver Lakes Golf Course, which is one of eleven stops on the historic Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail sites. The 54-hole tournament will begin Sunday with the Blazers teeing off at 8 a.m. on hole number 10.
The Blazers will be paired with Lipscomb and Southern Miss. Play will continue through Monday with the final round set for Tuesday.
The 12-team field includes host Jacksonville State, Alabama State, Lipscomb, Morehead State, Murray State, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Tennessee State, defending champion Troy, West Alabama and UAB.
UAB is coming off of a T-11th finish at the Memphis Women's Intercollegiate two weeks ago. This is the second of a four-event fall schedule in preparation for the upcoming spring slate.
The Blazers return to Silver Lakes looking to build on the momentum from last season in which they finished in a three-way tie for sixth. Last year was also where sophomore Sydney Snodgrass made her collegiate debut earning C-USA Golfer of the Week Honors after her fifth-place finish.
