Blazers Finish Sixth at Golden Eagle Jam

HATTIESBURG, MISS. - The UAB women’s golf team finished sixth at the Golden Eagle Jam hosted by Southern Miss Oct. 10-11, 2016.
UAB began the final day in eighth place, but a strong final round pushed the Blazers up two spots into sixth place.
“Overall the girls played better today,” head coach Kim Wilcox said. “I was happy to move up the leaderboard. Now we focus on preparing for our final tournament of the fall in Memphis.”
Sydney Snodgrass and Kenna Hughes each shot 13 over par for the tournament to finish in a four-way tie for 15th.
Rebecca Chandler rebounded from yesterday to shoot 76 (+4), and finish tied for 31st overall.
Juliana Sebastian’s 77 (+5) in the final round moved her up six spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for 43rd.
Kayla Wilbourn rounded out the Blazer lineup. She finished tied for 50th.
Southern Miss shot a tournament best, 289, on the final day to defeat Murray State by five strokes.
UAB returns to the course for its final tournament of the fall when they head to Memphis Oct. 17-18, 2016.
