UAB Beach Volleyball Participates in Collegiate Beach Bash

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB beach volleyball team will play in the 3rd annual Collegiate Beach Bash tournament hosted by Rally Volleyball this Saturday in Atlanta at LakePoint Sports Complex.
Blazers’ pairs Avery Hoven and Tressa Buckland, Rachel Evans and Gabbi Moreno, and Kat Jovicic and Morgan Smith will participate in the exhibition. They will face off against pairs from Georgia State, LSU, South Carolina, Spring Hill College, and UNC-Wilmington. Each team will play four matches with two sets per match.
The Blazers will face familiar foes as Georgia State, LSU, South Carolina and UNC-Wilmington are all members of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) with UAB, which is a Division I conference member of the NCAA.
“We’ve had a very productive fall season,” said Head Coach Ashley Hardee. “Our goal has been to raise the level at which we compete every day and I feel we have made positive strides in that area.” “We are excited to participate in the Collegiate Beach Bash and it is going to be a great event.”
The tournament is free to all fans and play will start at 8 a.m. EST and end roughly around 5 p.m. The event will be live streamed by flovolleyball.tv.
