UAB Beach Volleyball Selected as Eighth Seed in CCSA Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After posting a 13-15 regular-season record, the UAB beach volleyball was selected as the No. 8 seed for the inaugural Coastal collegiate Association Beach Volleyball Championship.
The CCSA Championship is set to begin Friday at the Lakepoint Sporting Community in Emerson, Georgia. Florida State closed the regular season with a 24-1 record to earn the No. 1 seed.
The eight teams selected to compete for the inaugural championship will be divided into two four-team pools. The top-three teams in each pool will advance to the knockout phase with each pool’s winner receiving a bye into the semifinals.
The championship match will be broadcasted live next Sunday on ESPN3 at 12 p.m. CT.
UAB begins pool play on Friday with a 7 a.m. CT match against No. 5 South Carolina before taking on No. 4 LSU at 12 p.m. CT.
Saturday, UAB takes on No. 1 Florida State at 9:30 a.m. CT to close pool play.
