UAB Beach Volleyball Falls in Saturday's Doubleheader

SIESTA KEY, Fla. - The UAB beach volleyball team fell to stiff competition Saturday as the Blazer fell to Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast in doubleheader action at the Fiesta on the Siesta Key tournament.
UAB opened the tournament on Friday falling to North Florida, 5-0, snapping UAB's five-match win streak. Chelsi Carter and Sara Rishell took their first loss at the No. 1 position in 11 matches.
On Saturday, the Blazers faced tough competition in No. 9 Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast. The Hatters came out on top, 5-0, to open Saturday's doubleheader before FGCU notched a 5-0 victory over UAB to close Saturday's action.
The Blazers close the Fiesta on Siesta Key tournament on Sunday with a 7:30 a.m. CT contest against Jacksonville. UAB topped Jacksonville earlier this season, 4-1, at the Gamecock Invitational hosted by South Carolina.
