Round Two Results
MOBILE, Ala.- The UAB Women's golf team moved up one spot to number four after the second round of the USA Intercollegiate.
"All of the girls played well today," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "We had 16 birdies as a team which is excellent. Tomorrow should be an exciting day for us."
The Blazers broke two school records today. Their 289 became the new lowest 18-hole team record, and they also broke the lowest two-day team total by two strokes when they posted a 591. Both records broken were ones that have stood since September of 2010.
Rebecca Chandler improved from day one shooting a 70 (-2). She sits in second place going into the final day trailing Chanelle Avaricio of Alabama State by only one stroke.
Sydney Snodgrass and Juliana Sebastian each shot even par 72s. Snodgrass is in a two-way tie for 10th, while Sebastian moved up 11 spots today and is tied for 27th.
Kayla Wilbourn shot 75 (+3) and is in a five-way tie for 16th. Kenna Hughes improved eight strokes from the first round at fired a five over 77. She is tied for 51st.
As a team UAB (+14) trails third place Georgia State (+13) by only one stroke, and Eastern Kentucky (+12) sits in second place. Southern Mississippi is the current team leader at eight over.
