Blazers Sit in Ninth After 18 Holes

“It was not our best but I’m glad Maria played well,” head coach Kim Wilcox said. “Tomorrow we should be more comfortable and hopefully that will translate into lower scores.”
Donado tallied four birdies on the day to fire a one-over par 73 and sit in a five-way tie for seventh place. Sydney Snodgrass continued her strong play to card a 77 and is tied for 33rd while Rebecca Chandler is tied for 40th after an opening round 78.
Kayla Wilbourn and Kenna Hughes round out the Blazer lineup after shooting an 83 and 86, respectively. Murray State leads the team competition after an opening round five-over par 293 performance.
Chasing the Racers is Eastern Kentucky in second place at six over.
The Blazers take on the 8:30 a.m. ET tee-time with Hughes leading off for UAB. UAB is set to go off of hole number one with the remaining four players teeing off in nine minute increments. Fans can follow all of the action live on GolfStat.com.
