“I am disappointed to move down two spots,” head coach Kim Wilcox said. “We couldn’t get anything going today. I hope to get some rest and good practice in so that we are in good condition for the conference tournament.”
Sydney Snodgrass was the Blazers’ leader in the clubhouse for the third consecutive tournament. Snodgrass carded a final round 75 to finish tied for 25th.
Rebecca Chandler turned in an 82 to finish tied for 41st with teammate Maria Donado carding an 83 to finish tied for 44th. Kayla Wilbourn rebounded nicely on the final day to card a 79, the second lowest score turned in by a Blazer in the third round, to finish 64th. Kenna Hughes rounded out the UAB lineup with a closing round eight-over 80 and finished 72nd.
54-holes proved to not be enough to decide a team-winner. Murray State turned in a final round 293 to move up two-spots on the leaderboard and finished tied with Eastern Kentucky at +24. After a one-hole playoff between the two teams, Murray State prevailed to take home the title.
UAB takes three weeks off before returning to the course in the team’s final event, the Conference USA Championships set April 17-19 in Fort Myers, Fla.
