BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB cross country is set to travel to Boston, Mass. this weekend for the 2017 Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown.
The Blazers are running against No. 7 Providence, No. 18 Indiana and No. 25 Georgetown as well as Syracuse and Harvard who are receiving votes but are just outside the top 25. In all, UAB will race against 21 teams from around the country this weekend.
From The Coach's Desk:
"This is a very historic meet for us," head coach Matt Esche said. "This will be the first time UAB has run in this event and the first time we have had a team as good as this one is. This upcoming stretch is going to be big for us."
Where: Boston, Mass.
When: Saturday, Sept. 22, 2017
Course: Franklin Park
Start Time: Women's 5K – 3:00 p.m.
UAB held steady this week in the South Region maintaining its No. 12 ranking. The green and gold started the season ranked No. 12 and after a strong opening season win in the Brooks Memphis Twilight, have held strong in that spot.
"We have had a couple weeks off so it's nice to see that our first race still holds up," Esche said. "We're really getting into the season now and we'll be looking to move up within our region."
