UAB Travels to Tuscaloosa for ITA Southern Regional

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's tennis team will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to take part in the ITA Southern Regional from Oct. 18-23. The event will be hosted by the University of Alabama.
The tournament will feature squads from universities in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. UAB hopes to improve upon last year's showing at the Regional, when former Blazer Tim Dollman advanced to the singles round of 16.The Green and Gold will look to build on its performance at the Samford Round Robin last weekend. Junior Fernando Vargas and sophomore Brian Akhtar recorded victories in the event. Vargas won twice, while Akhtar notched one victory.
