BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB Tennis Courts have continued to treat the Blazers well as the UAB men's tennis team claimed its sixth home win of the season with a 6-1 victory over Jackson State on Saturday afternoon.

UAB (10-6, 0-2) is a perfect 6-0 at home this season and has now won three-straight matches and six of its last seven dating back to Feb. 17.

The Blazers cruised through doubles play on Saturday, kicked off by Henry Paiste and Nikolai Manchev earning a 6-1 win on Court 2. Tim Dollman and Stefan Gonzalez earned their 10^th win of the season on Court 1, topping Andrey Alawi and Stylianos Gkontsaris 6-2 to clinch the opening point.

Dollman then went to work in singles play, improving to 12-2 on the year with a convincing 6-0, 6-1 win over Alawi. Gonzalez finished right behind him with a 6-0, 6-2 win in the number two spot to give the Blazers a 3-0 lead in the match.

After Fourie was scratched from the lineup after doubles play, junior Kenton Parton stepped into the three spot and provide a 6-2, 6-3 win over Fritz Jacobs to clinch the match for UAB.

Sophomore Giovani Pasini extended his win streak to seven matches on Court 4 with a 7-6(3), 6-0 win, while Tom el Safadi claimed the Blazers' final victory with a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-0, 10-8 win over Federico Mendieta.

UAB returns to action on Sunday when it will face Alabama A&M at noon. The men will play simultaneously with the UAB women's tennis team, who also face the Bulldogs, at George Ward Park. Admission to the matches are free.
