BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After falling behind early in doubles play, the UAB men's tennis team dug deep and claimed four singles wins to earn its fourth-straight victory after holding off Lipscomb, 4-3, at the UAB Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon.

UAB (7-5, 0-1) continued its perfect run of form at home, improving to 5-0 on the year, while the Blazers have shown their poise as of late with three of their last four matches finishing 4-3.

The Blazers heated up in singles play on Sunday, as Anru Fourie posted UAB's first win of the day with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Jorge Ortegon on Court 3.

That win was followed up by a win from sophomore Tim Dollman, who claimed singles victory No. 9 on the year with a 6-4, 6-3 shootout victory over Alejandro Manzanares on Court 1 to put the Blazers up 2-1.

Lipscomb drew level with a win on Court 4 before a pair of 6-1, 6-2 victories from Giovani Pasini and Tom el Safadi saw UAB claim the all-important fourth point to claim the overall match victory.

Despite losing the doubles point, Kenton Parton and Fourie were strong on Sunday, claiming a 7-5 victory over Lipscomb's Daniel Cardenas and Pedro Uribe on Court 3. The Blazer duo is now 8-3 on the year and 7-2 in the No. 3 spot.

UAB returns to action on March 11 when the Blazers head to the Sunshine State to face off with conference foe Florida Atlantic. First serve in Boca Raton is slated for noon.
