Men’s Tennis Set to Host Belmont, Travel to Mississippi Valley State

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB men's tennis team hosts Belmont on Saturday in Birmingham before traveling to Itta Bena, Miss. to take on Mississippi Valley State on Sunday.
Saturday's match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the UAB Campus Courts, while Sunday will feature a double header with matches scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
UAB (2-6, 0-2 C-USA) faces Belmont (8-3, 0-0 SoCon) for the eighth time, with the Blazers holding a 6-1 all-time record against the Bruins. Belmont claimed its first win in the series last season, notching a 5-2 win in Nashville.
The Green and Gold will face the Delta Devils for the first time in program history on Sunday. Mississippi Valley State comes into the doubleheader with a record of 0-8, including 0-3 in SWAC play.
UAB is coming off a productive weekend, which featured a 5-2 win over Alabama A&M and a 4-0 victory over Jackson State.
Following Sunday's matches, the Blazers will be back in action on March 13 as they host North Alabama.
