UAB Wins Third Straight After 5-2 Victory Over Chattanooga

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team extended its winning streak to three matches after a 5-2 victory over Chattanooga on Sunday afternoon.
The Blazers (3-3) opened the match by capturing the doubles point. Sydney Clarke and Maggie White were 6-3 winners on Court 1 while Adela Wasserbauerova and Enya Ratkic took the match on Court 3 to clinch the point.
UAB went ahead 2-0 as Annalisa Smith was a 6-3, 6-3 straight set winner on Court 6. Clark followed with a 7-5, 6-3 decision on Court 3. The Blazers also got come-from-behind wins from Jana Hecking on Court 1 (6-7, 6-1, 6-3) and Adela Wasserbauerova on Court 2 (2-6, 6-3, 6-1).
With today's win, UAB leads the all-time series 9-7.
The three match homestand at Lakeshore continues Thursday when the Blazers host Kennesaw State (2-0) on Feb. 10 and UT Martin (0-3) on Feb. 12.
