UAB Hosts Three Game Series Versus Marshall

BIRMINGHAM- UAB softball will host Marshall in a three-game series, March 18-20. Game 1 will be played at 6:00 p.m., Game 2 will begin on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., and Game 3 will start Sunday at noon.
UAB LATELY:
The Blazers (14-10, 2-1) are looking to find a foothold in the C-USA standings, coming off a 2-1 series versus FIU. Tyler Armistead leads the Blazers in on-base percentage, with a .407 mark. She also leads the team in stolen bases, with five. Sierra Frazier has collected 20 RBIs and 2 homeruns. Faith Hegh has three triples. Hegh leads the team in total hits, with 24. At third base, freshman Lindsey Smith is leading Conference USA in assists. (81) Sarah Cespedes (7-2) is the Blazer's go-to selection at pitcher. She has 34 strikeouts on the year.

The Thundering Herd (16-6) are coming off an 8-7 setback against Ohio, in a game that snapped an 11-game win streak for Marshall. Aly Harrell leads Conference USA in batting average with .484, on base percentage with .619, and leads her team in total hits with 30. Harrell's batting average leads Conference USA. Saige Pye is tied for the team lead in home runs with six and leads Marshall in RBIs with 22, a mark that is tied for first in Conference USA. Mya Stevenson leads Conference USA in doubles, with nine. Sydney Nester (10-3) is the Thundering Herd's top choice in the circle, she leads Conference USA in lowest opposing batting average with .165, and strikeouts with 144.
UAB is 22-18-1 all-time against Marshall. The Blazer defense has a team fielding percentage of .957 and has turned 15 double plays.

Friday's game is Youth Jersey Friday, where fans aged 17 and under will receive free admission with a school or club jersey. Saturday's game is signature Saturday, there will be a postgame autograph session for fans. Sunday's game is a part of Sunday Funday, where fans 17 and under get in free with the purchase of an adult ticket. Fans in the sixth grade and under can run the bases after the final game. The entire weekend is Military and First Responder's Weekend, where fans can receive $2 tickets with a Military or First Responder's ID.
Softball season tickets are available by purchasing the 2021-22 Gold Card for $65 here. The 2021-22 Gold Card will get you access to all home events for Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, Volleyball, Women's Basketball, Softball, and Baseball (Regions Field & Young Memorial). This card is not valid for Conference USA or NCAA Championship events.
