JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – UAB men's tennis (4-2) picked up its fourth win in a row after sinking Jacksonville State (4-4) by a score of 5-2. Michal Lusovsky moved to 5-0 in singles play this season, extending his unbeaten streak.
The Blazers took the doubles point for the fifth-straight match with wins on Court One and Court Three. After Puric and Malige fell on Court Two (6-3), Lusovsky and Georgios Nouchakis took down Dobrnjac and Soller on Court One (6-4) to tie it up. Parker Bradbary and Roman Postolka secured the doubles point with a 6-3 win on Court Three.
Michal Lusovsky immediately took care of his Court One opponent Agustin Cuellar (6-2, 6-2) for his fifth-straight victory to start the season. Vojtech Podzemny followed shortly afterwards with a straight set win of his own on Court Three (6-4, 7-5) over Lucius Soller to make it 3-0 for the Blazers.
On Court Four, Jacksonville State got on the board after Vicente Arbelaez Prati defeated Georgios Nouchakis in straight sets (7-5, 6-2). The Blazers, however, needed only one more singles victory to clinch the match, and Noah Malige delivered. Malige came back to defeat Vanja Dobrnjac in three sets after dropping the first set (2-6, 6-4, 7-5).
Jacksonville State picked up a second win on Court Two with Xavier Sarda Marti taking down Roman Postolka in a very tightly contested match (6-4, 6-7[3-7], 7-6[7-2]). Carlos Gimenez Perez closed it out for the Blazers with a three-set win on Court Six over Alejandro Beneyto Sanchez (4-6, 6-1, 7-5).
