UAB Splits with No. 10 Georgia State and Mercer on Final Day of March To May

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The UAB beach volleyball team concluded action at the fifth annual March To May on Sunday with a 4-1 victory over Mercer and a 4-1 loss to No. 10 Georgia State.

Ella Alexander and Adriana Pereira went 2-0 on the day with both victories coming on Court 4. In the first match of the day against Georgia State, the duo seized momentum with a 9-0 run to conclude set two, and turned that into a 14-0 run ultimately as they won the third set 15-8.

Against Mercer, Court 1 (Brooke Pertuit and Jasmine Haas), Court 3 (Jessica Ennis and Emma Andraka) Court 4 (Alexander and Pereira) and Court 5 (Olivia Stant, Olivia Chychrun) were all victorious.

The Blazers went 2-4 at the March To May. Along with the win over Mercer, UAB also defeated No. 19 Tulane. All of their losses came to nationally-ranked opponents (#3 UCLA, #5 LMU, #10 Georgia State, #20 South Carolina).
