UAB Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Regular Season Against Middle Tennessee

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team will conclude the regular season on Saturday afternoon when it faces Middle Tennessee at the Hoover Met. First serve begins at noon.
UAB LATELY
The Blazers (8-9, 1-2 C-USA) are coming off their first league victory on April 8, a 5-2 win at WKU. UAB is 2-3 at home this season.
MIDDLE TENNESSEE LATELY
The Blue Raiders (10-8, 1-1 C-USA) are coming off a 4-0 loss at East Tennessee State on April 2. MT is 3-6 on the road this year

The two teams began play in 1983 and have met a total of 30 times, with MT holding an 18-12 advantage.
LAST TIME AGAINST WKU
Sydney Clarke won a tiebreaker on Court 2 to clinch a 4-3 victory for UAB over Middle Tennessee on April 16, 2022. The Blazers jumped out to a 1-0 lead after Clark and Maggie White (6-1 on Court 1) and Enya Ratkic and Vanessa Mellynchuk (6-2 on Court 3) won the doubles point. In singles, Adela Wasserbauerova cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win on Court 1. White put UAB ahead 3-0 after a 6-2, 6-3 victory on Court 4. However, the Blue Raiders took points on Courts 3, 5 and 6 to tie the match at 3-3. Clarke battled back from dropping the first set 6-3 to win the second set 6-2 forcing a tie breaker. She clinched the match on a forehead that ended the breaker at 7-4.
