UAB Falls to WKU on Saturday

BIRMINGHAM –UAB (10-24, 3-11) fell 6-3 to WKU (19-17, 4-10) in game two of the series on Saturday, April 15.
Another pitcher's duel was displayed in game two after the game sat scoreless through four innings. Both teams put single runs on the board in the fifth while WKU continued to put a run on in the sixth and seventh innings. UAB cut the Hilltopper's lead to one after Christian Hall doubled and collected his 10th RBI. The Blazers tied the ballgame going into the ninth, but WKU collected three runs to re-gain the lead while UAB failed to score in its last at bat.
Blayze Berry started on the mound for the Blazers and threw seven complete innings while he allowed three runs – earned – on nine hits with six strikeouts. Ben Abernathy (0-3) was given the loss after he relieved Berry and gave up three runs on three hits with two walks. Christian Clack and Colin Daniel also spent time on the mound for UAB.
Christian Hall (2-for-3), Isaiah Mack (2-for-5) and Henry Hunter (2-for-3) collected multi-hit games while Tyler Waugh collected an RBI single. Hall collected two doubles on the day, Mack recorded a single and a double and Hunter picked up two singles and one run.

The final game of the series between UAB and WKU is set for Sunday, April 16 at Young Memorial Field with first pitch scheduled for 1 P.M.
