BIRMINGHAM – UAB Baseball travels to Auburn to take on the Auburn Tigers on Friday night for the final exhibition game of the fall season. First pitch will be at 6 p.m. from Plainsman Park and will be free to the public.
The two teams met twice during the 2026 season with Auburn winning both games. Auburn took the first game 17-2 in Auburn on March 10 and completed the season sweep at Regions Field on May 5 by a score of 10-2. The Tigers were ranked inside the top 10 in the D1 Baseball poll for both games in 2026.
Auburn would win its own regional before being swept by Ole Miss in the Auburn Super Regional. Head Coach Butch Thompson led Auburn to its third 40-win season over the last five seasons this past spring.
The Blazers return 23 players from the 2026 season and welcome 17 newcomers to the 2027 roster. UAB returns 74% of its hits, 79.8% of its runs scored, 80.2% of its extra base hit production, 86% of its stolen bases, and 75.5% of its innings pitched from last spring.
The schedule for the 2027 season will be announced at a later date this fall.
