UAB Falls to DBU in Series Opener

Dallas, Texas – The UAB Blazers (10-19, 3-7) fall to the DBU Patriots (21-9, 7-3) by a score of 2-1 on Thursday, April 6 in Dallas, Texas.
During the pitching duel, the game stood scoreless through six innings before DBU scored one run in the sixth. It was not until the eighth inning when UAB put a run on the board after Brayton Brown hit a laser shot to left field to collect his fourth home run of the year. Christian Hall collected the Blazers' first hit of the game after he picked up his fourth double of the season.
On the mound for UAB, Brooks Walton started and threw five and two thirds of an inning and allowed one run – earned – on four hits with five strikeouts. Tyler O'Clair received the loss after he came on in relief and gave up the go-ahead run but struck out four of the eight batters he faced.

The Blazers and Patriots will meet for game two of the three-game series on Friday, April 7 at Horner Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 P.M.
