LOUISVILLE – UAB women's soccer (1-1-0) fell on the road at Louisville (2-0-0), 3-1.
The Cardinals were able to take an early lead as Mackenzie Geigle put Louisville on the board. After halftime Karsyn Cherry put the Cardinals up 2-0 in the 66th minute, then Fina Davy extended Louisville's lead 3-0 in the 79th minute.
A bright spot came in the 80th minute with a penalty kick goal by Abbey Burns. The goal marks Burns' second collegiate goal.
Up next, the Blazers travel down the road to take on Samford on Thursday, August 22. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
