AUBURN, Ala. – UAB women's tennis fell in its season opener on Saturday evening at No. 12 Auburn, 6-1.
The Tigers were able to secure the doubles point after claiming Courts 1 and 3.

1. #16 DJ Bennett/Ava Hrastar (AUB) def. Mackenzie White/Vanessa Mellynchuk (UAB) 6-1
2. Angella Okutoyi/Merna Refaat (AUB) vs. Nera Tesankic/Klara Kajabova (UAB) 5-3, unfinished
3. Maria Garcia/Ava Esposito (AUB) def. Enya Ratkic/Kristyna Damaskova (UAB) 6-4

Auburn took control in singles play, taking each of the first four available points. Mackenzie White earned the sole point for the Blazers with a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7) win.
