BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's tennis (1-1) picked up its first win of the season on Friday afternoon against Presbyterian (0-2), downing the Blue Hoses, 7-0.
The Blazers opened the match by taking the doubles point. Gresi Bajri and Vanessa Mellynchuk took care of business on Court 1 while Klara Kajabova teamed up with Mackenzie White to secure the point with a win on Court 3.

2. Enya Ratkic/ Nera Tesankic (UAB) vs. Claudia Sanchez/Valentina De Sousa (PC) unfinished, 5-2
3. Klara Kajabova/Mackenzie White (UAB) def. Mary Ellen Longmire/Elle Sceney (PC) 6-1
UAB was able to capture all six of the singles points to secure the 7-0 victory. The wins from Bajri, Damaskova and Tesankic marked the first of their collegiate career.
