Women’s Tennis Earns a 4-3 Road Win at Austin Peay

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – UAB women's tennis (8-4) picked up a 4-3 win at Austin Peay (2-6) on Friday afternoon.
The Governors took the doubles point on Courts 1 and 3 to start the match.
Doubles
1. CHENG, Yu-Hua/TORREALBA, Denise (APSU) def. Vanessa Mellynchuk/Klara Kajabova (UAB) 6-2
2. BARANOV, Sophia/BOHLEN, Luca (APSU) vs. Mackenzie White/Enya Ratkic (UAB) 6-6, unfinished
3. FONTANA, Asia/THIEL, Elena (APSU) def. Nera Tesankic/Maria Paz Ospina (UAB) 6-4
UAB bounced back in singles taking four of the six courts. Vanessa Mellynchuk earned a three-set thriller on Court 1. Mackenzie White claimed a straight set win on Court 4, as well as Enya Ratkic on Court 5. Nera Tesankic recorded a victory on Court 6 in three sets. The Green and Gold have now earned four consecutive wins.
