Blazers Travel to Wichita State for Pivotal Three Game Series

WICHITA, KS - UAB Baseball (15-10, 1-2) travels to Wichita State (8-16, 1-2) this weekend to take on the Shockers in the Blazers' first American Conference series this season. Both teams are looking to get back on track as they each are 3-7 in the last 10 games.

THE LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers fell to Jacksonville State on Tuesday, 4-1. The Green and Gold dropped their third straight home game after a perfect 7-0 start to the season at Young Memorial Field. UAB shut out the Gamecocks in the final five innings but it wasn't enough to weather the 3-run third inning by JSU.
SCOUTING THE SHOCKERS
Wichita State had high hopes going into 2025 as the Shockers were picked second in the Preseason American Conference poll. Almost the entire WSU infield was tabbed with All-Conference Preseason Honors. Camden Johnson, Jordan Rogers, Josh Livingston, and Mauricio Millan received the honors with Millan being a unanimous selection.
SERIES HISTORY
Wichita State leads the overall series, 3-1, with all four meetings coming last year. This weekend will be the first time the Blazers and Shockers have met in Wichita.
HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Senior OF Logan Braunschweig has been a force on the bases since his arrival in 2022. The Alabaster, Ala. native has reached base in 53 consecutive games, which is the longest active streak in the American Conference.
