Panthers Score Late to Beat Men’s Soccer

ATLANTA, Ga. — The UAB men's soccer team (1-4-1) fell 1–0 on the road Monday night at Georgia State (2-2-2).
The match was tight throughout, with both sides trading chances but failing to convert in the first half. UAB outshot the Panthers 7–3 before halftime, with Humphrey Doh and Matthew Garcia testing goalkeeper Loan Marin.
After the break, Georgia State grew into the game despite UAB continuing to edge the shot totals. The decisive moment came in the 84th minute when Matt Taylor found the back of the net off an assist from Braiden Hall, tallying his third goal of the season and putting the Panthers ahead.
UAB pressed late, earning four corners and 11 total shots on the night compared to Georgia State's six and two. Blazers goalkeeper Tom Mabon made four saves in the loss.
With the result, UAB drops to 1–4–1 on the season, while Georgia State moves to 2–2–2.
