Keeling Earns American Conference Honorable Mention

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's soccer had a player notch a weekly honor, as officials from the league office announced on Monday that Caitlin Keeling earned honorable mention.
Keeling played a role in the 3-3 draw in the Blazers opening conference game against Rice last Thursday. The junior midfielder found Avery Berryman who found Lailah Stewart for a goal in the 51st minute to tie the match 2-2.
Keeling then scored her first collegiate goal less than 10 minutes later to give UAB a 3-2 advantage. The Owls ultimately equalized the match 3-3 in the 82nd minute.
The award marks Keeling's first of her career.
Up next, the Blazers hit the road to face No. 10 Memphis on Thursday, September 18. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.
